Following her dramatic collision with a fishing vessel Friday October 17 in front of Les Sables d'Olone where she was joigning the Vendee Globe village, the Imoca 60-footer Hugo Boss had had serious damages. After assessor's report, she can be repaired with among others, the help of Multiplast.
In fact, Yann Elies who sail her quite sister ship Generali who has been built by the shipyard, has offer to Alex Thompson team to use his moulds which were at the Multiplast shed. In 3 days, with its know how, Multiplast has realised the different pieces to be replaced. Hugo Boss is not an unknown boat at the Multiplast yard. We have built her keel last year. When Alex Thompson sailing team asked to Multiplast if they are able to be involved, as usual, with a commando operation, job can be done in a very short time.

Aboard the 32.50-meter maxi catamaran Gitana 13 designed by the Gilles Ollier Design Team and built by Multiplast, French skipper Lionel Lemonchois and his 9 crews went just to catch the new time reference between Honk Kong and Londonon the Tea Race in 41d 21h 26min & 34s, at an average speed of 15.23 knots on the 15 312 miles course.

Created in 2000 by the Gilles Ollier Design Team, Gitana 13 has today more than 150 000 miles in her rake and quite 4 Round The World. First skippers was French Loïck Peyron & American Skip Novak during The Race 2000, who finished 2nd behind her sister ship Club Med. Thus, she will be helmed as Orange by French Bruno Peyron

After a height-month short building, the IMOCA 60' monohull DCNS Marc Thiercelin will sail for the Vendée Globe 2008, was launched in Vannes on May 31st. A wonderfull machine, refined in depth, perfectly designed for the French sailor for his 5th round-the-world race including his 4th solo.
