Brit-Air-skippe-par-Armel-Le-Cleac-h-2nd-de-The-Artemis-Transat-2008Multiplast on the podium of The Artemis Transat
______________________________________________________________________

With Brit Air 2nd skippered by French Armel Le Cleac'h and Generali 3rd helmed by French Yann Elies, Multiplast is proud to walk with that two talented "captains" who have been confident with the Briton yard, builder of their boats. Atypical edition, which have seen various weather conditions, it demonstrates the reliability and the performance of the Finot-Conq designs built by Multiplast.

A nice podium in the wake of the winner Loïck Peyron aboard Gitana 80, and a nice award for that two navigators who have not been so lucky since the launch of their boats (April 07 for Generali and July 2007 for Brit Air).

By improving Gerinimo's previous reference time by almost 4 days on the San Francisco / Yokohama record course, Gitana 13 and her crew offer to Multiplast a new item to its head lines, in 11d 00h 12' 55''.
And one could not deny that considering the course Yokohama / San Francisco, Geronimo is still the record holder since 2006 (it was snatched from 1998 Bruno Peyron record on Explorer, an other multihull built by Multiplast and created by the Gilles Ollier Design Team).
Since ten years, Multiplast's multihulls driven by talented skippers, have opened up a way in the North Pacific Ocean which is not so pacific. After reading Gitana 13's logbook, it seems obvious that they had to face a raging ocean which lasted the 11 days of their winning crossing.

After a 43d and 38min trip from New-York to San Francisco via Cape Horn, maxi catamaran Gitana 13 skippered by Lionel Lemonchois, improve the Route de l'Or record of 14d 02h 43', after a 14 000 miles course. A new highlight for the Gilles Ollier Design Team & the Multiplast yard, designers and builder of that multihull.
In almost 30 years, more than 30 prototypes have gone out of the Briton shed (Vannes, Atlantic). They have sailed all over the world and trust quite all the major ocean records. Performance and reliability have again been highly demonstrated by Gitana 13 and her crew, who hang up a new Graal. Including the Route de l'Or, that 2000 built boat has more than 100 000 miles in her rake and quite 3 Round The World. First skippers was French Loïck Peyron
