Since her launch July 18, 2007 at Multiplast yard, Brit Air has reached Port-la-Forêt harbour (South Brittany) where he get her 180° righting test. Thus, mast has been dropped before 90° and 10° new righting tests. Sea trials will come after.

Having cross the starting line at Ambrose light at 18h 02' 55" Gmt Thursday July 19 near New York bay, maxi trimaran Groupama 3 has literally run the 2 925 miles of the Atlantic passage. She has set a new reference time of 4d 03h 57' 54".
With a fantastic first racing day and 794 miles / average 33.08 knots, Franck Cammas and his crew put Bruno Peyron's Orange II 04h 36' behind. Groupama throw so a nice double. After nine months of work at ten o'clock local time on Wednesday 18th July 2007, the launch took place of the 60-foot (18.28m) Imoca monohull Brit Air designed by Finot-Conq and built by Multiplast for the Breton skipper Armel Le Cléac'h.
This was a particularly moving time for the yachtsman from Morlaix Bay, as well as for all those, who had worked on her at the yard and the many members of the staff of Brit Air that came along to support their protégé. Armel le Cléach: "...The launch of Brit Air is a major step in my short life – I'm only thirty.
