Fort Lauderdale Boat Show

For 6 consecutive years, Multiplast and the Gilles Ollier Design Team have exhibited at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (Florida, USA), the world's leading show for superyachts. The president Gilles Ollier, Franck Martin one of the Gilles Ollier Design Team's 4 naval architects and David Palmer exports manager will be on site to present the latest activities of the yard and the projects in the pipeline, both racing and cruising. From November 23 – 29, 2001. Booth # 742 - Builders & Designers Tent - Bahia Mar location

International America's Cup Class

For the 4th time in its history, Multiplast has once again been selected for the construction of the French challenger for the America's Cup. Indeed, after F1, Ville de Paris and 6e Sens (semi-finalist in the Louis Vuitton's Cup 2000 – in NZ), the yard confirms its position as a leader in the building of these ultra-sophisticated yachts. Apart from its accumulated know-how, Multiplast has several modular ovens for curing large composite structures, the biggest of which at 50 m (164 ft) long – unique in Europe – can take two IACCs under construction simultaneously.

60 ft Gitana X

As Geronimo left the yard at the end of July this year, Multiplast immediately started the new 60 ft Open class trimaran Gitana X. Already, this early fall, construction is well underway. The hull and floats are being laid up, the molds for the mast have been finished as have the beam molds. Launching is scheduled for spring 2002, which will enable Gitana X to compete in the international 60 ft multihull circuit (Orma). The concept which presided over the design and building of this new trimaran is biased more towards Grand Prix type events.

Geronimo

After having undergone sea trials lasting two and a half months and having clocked up more than 7000 miles, Olivier de Kersauson's giant trimaran, Geronimo, is currently being prepared and fitted out for the Jules Verne Trophy, the non-stop round the world crewed record. The 34 m long trimaran should be crossing the starting line this winter in pursuit of the 71-day record which her skipper has held since 1997.
