Building got underway in May 2006 on the IMOCA 60' monohull for the French skipper Yann Elies. Multiplast is building the yacht for Elies' entry in the Vendée Globe 2008. Deck and hull have just been assembled in the yard in Vannes, in southern Brittany.
The major components of Generali's oven-cured Nomex / carbon epoxy sandwich construction are complete. All of the hull's interior structures have been fitted, including the bulwark rails and floor plates which are also made of prepreg. Yann Penfornis is Generali's project manager at Multiplast.

The 2003 Solitaire du Figaro winner Armel Le Cléac'h and his sponsor Brit Air have chosen the Multiplast yard to build their new Imoca 60' monohull for the 2008 Vendée Globe. Designed by the Finot Group, the boat will start to take shape in Vannes (southern Brittany, France) in early October 2006.
Brit Air will be the second Imoca Open 60 monohull built by Multiplast for the 6th edition of the Vendée Globe (start date: November 9, 2008), world's greatest solo race around the planet, where reliability and security are key factors, along with performance. Factors that have always been at the heart of the yard's philosophy, as its race record reveals.


Exclusive-76Multiplast & the Gilles Ollier Design Team at the Cannes Boat Show

Depending of the production start of the ExclusivE 76, long-distance top of the range cruising catamaran created for the ExclusivE Marine company – for whom moulds are currently under construction in the shed of Vannes (France) - Multiplast and the Gilles Ollier Design Team are present on the Cannes International Boat Show with ExclusivE Marine, 13 to 18 September 2006 (Stand Riv 35).
Gilles Ollier: "...25-meter cruising catamaran Magic Cat we have created and built remains a reference. But we have not really showed our know-how and ideas in the cruising catamaran field. Following a meeting with Georges Benarroch and ExclusivE Marine, we have been able to do it.
