pied-de-mat-geronimoMast stepped on Olivier de Kersauson's trimaran !

Just forty-eight hours after having been launched at the Multiplast yard, the 34-metre platform now has her mast, a 39-metre one hundred percent carbon rotating wing-mast. Olivier de Kersauson's new trimaran has now looks every bit the record hunter she is designed to be.
After the last structural and resistance verifications have been carried out at the Multiplast yard, the trimaran should be out sailing by Thursday 26th July. Engine tests and trials under sail are lined up for the trials in the Bay of Quiberon. Afterwards, the multihull will cruise to the south of Belle-Ile then over to Lorient (Southern Brittany) where she will remain during the Interceltic Festival (3rd to 12th August 2001), before rallying her home port of Brest where the naming ceremony will take place on 29th September. As for now, training and the final crew selection process are underway before the setting out on the first record attempts. For one month, Gilles Ollier (the boss at the Multiplast yard) and Yann Penfornis (project manager) will be taking turns on board to check everything over, before handing the boat over to her owner.
