Car Ner 16 from Pescarolo/PlayStation Team finish 2nd at 24 Hours Le Mans 2005, with all carbon fibres bodies made by Multiplast.
Long distance race, Le Mans 24 hours car racing imply of course to have reliable and very competitive 'one off'. If there are a lot of components entering such a prototype, the 3 most important ones are the chassis, the engine and the body.
Well known for its know-how in carbon fibres mechanical working, either in racing boats (its target market) or in aeronautical field which is client of the shipyard,
Multiplast has builts the all carbon fibres bodies of the two prototypes from Pescarolo Team. Michal Elkoubi, purchase manager : "...bodies are perfect. We have been the only ones to be at the minimum weight during the official controls. And we have been delivered in time, on the right date. A very good job !!!".
A nice 2nd place...
Having realised the 2 pole positions and leading the race during the first hours of racing, the cars from the Pescarolo team have never been able to back on the first place after a stick obstruction for one of the cars and problems on the gear box for the second. Never the less, the Ner 16 finish 2nd with a first podium for the Team Pescarolo created in 2000.
